Privacy Policy

Applies to the iOS app Lite Maps: 3D & Street View (“the App”), published by Soad Hamadeh (“we”, “us”). Last updated: 23 September 2026.

The short version: the App has no accounts and no profiles. We do not collect your name, email or contact details. The places you save stay on your device. The App shows ads, and those ad partners may use an advertising identifier — which you control from iOS.

1. Information the App handles

• Location (optional). If you allow it, the App uses your device location to show where you are on the map and to centre the map near you. It is used on your device and is not stored on our servers or shared by us. You can explore the entire world without granting location access, and you can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings.
• Places you search or open. When you search for a place or open a street-level view, the coordinates or search text are sent to the map and imagery providers listed in section 3 so they can return the map tiles, panoramas or search results. We do not attach your identity to those requests.
• Saved and recent places. Stored locally on your device only. Deleting the App removes them.
• App settings and game progress. Your language, map style, notification preference and Guess the Place streak are stored on your device.
• Advertising identifier (IDFA). Used by advertising partners only if you allow tracking when iOS asks. If you decline, the App still works and still shows ads — they are simply less relevant.
• Diagnostics and usage measurement. Aggregated, non-identifying events (for example “a game round finished”, “an ad was shown”, app version, country and device model) so we can see what is used and what breaks.

We do not collect contacts, photos, files, health data, or the content of anything you type outside of place searches.

2. Why we use it

• To show maps, satellite imagery and street-level panoramas you ask for.
• To keep your saved places and preferences on your device.
• To show advertising, which is how the App stays free.
• To measure crashes and general usage so the App can be improved.
• To send the optional “Landmark of the day” notification, if you turn it on.

3. Service providers

The App relies on the following third parties. Each has its own privacy policy, and we do not control how they process data once a request reaches them:

• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — advertising, including mediation of the partners below.
• AppLovin and Liftoff Monetize (Vungle) — advertising demand partners within AdMob mediation.
• Google Firebase (Analytics and Remote Config) — usage measurement and remote settings.
• Google Maps Platform — maps, place search and street-level panoramas.
• Apple MapKit — maps, geocoding and Look Around imagery on supported devices.
• Mapbox — 3D city and satellite map styles.

These partners may process technical data such as your IP address, device type, operating system version, coarse location and the advertising identifier, in order to deliver and measure ads and to return map content.

4. Your choices

• Tracking. iOS asks once whether the App may track you. You can change the answer at any time: Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking.
• Consent (EEA, UK and similar regions). Where local law requires it, the App shows a consent form before personalised ads are used. You can reopen it from the App's Settings screen (“Privacy options”).
• Location. Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Location Services ▸ Lite Maps.
• Notifications. Turn “Landmark of the day” off inside the App, or disable notifications for Lite Maps in iOS Settings.
• Reset your advertising identifier. Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking, or by turning off “Allow Apps to Request to Track”.

5. Children

The App is a general-audience travel and geography app. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Data retention and security

We do not operate user accounts or a database of App users, so there is no personal profile for us to keep. Data stored on your device remains there until you delete the App. Data held by the providers in section 3 is retained according to their own policies. All network requests made by the App use encrypted connections.

7. International transfers

The providers listed above operate globally, so data they receive may be processed in countries other than yours, including the United States, under the safeguards described in their own policies.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, or to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because the App does not hold an account for you, the fastest way to exercise most of these rights is to reset or disable the advertising identifier in iOS and to delete the App. For anything else, write to us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will also be noted in the App's release notes.
